Please meet our Flower Shop Table

For their new headquarters in Greenpoint, Brooklyn - Flower Shop Collective commissioned Argentinian-American designer Matt Mondini to create a table that would act as the focal point of the studio.

As with all Mondini creations, the table is refined and reductive in language with a focus on materials and assembly. Mondini’s work reenvisions the functionality of common materials in order to bring them together and create a unique whole. Conceptualized as a series of surfaces, the table utilizes a full sheet of pine plywood as the main surface. The minimal design celebrates the beauty of natural pine.

In tandem with Flower Shop Collective's ethos, it was important that each material used was selected with intention and purpose. The beautiful tiles, featuring a flower pattern that echo FSC’s colorway and branding, are sourced from Uruguay and originate from the Escofet Tile factory in Catalonia. The Escofet Tile factory is steeped in Art Noveau history and was used by Antoni Gaudi and Joan Miro.

The globality of the materials sourced speaks to Flower Shop Collective's mission of researching and celebrating stories of origin and how they shape us today.
